in my song

This new year’s post comes a bit later than most, but 2012’s still fresh in like a gust of wind and I intend to do some breathing. The tail end of 2011 was replete with exciting things, including a late-December adventure down south in A-town, and a short but eventful jaunt to the less touristed spots of sunny Florida. There’s nothing quite so grand as an epic road trip, especially if Daniel’s on board.

Notes on the finer culinary discoveries of US-1 South: 9 hours of eating trail mix while driving makes trail mix the first thing on the list of “things I will not eat in 2012.” Also, contrary to the lone Yelp reviewer’s review, Baxley, Georgia’s Mi Sombrero is not the Mexican restaurant to set your standards by. Finally, there is one crazy road sign advertising “Vegan Jamaican BBQ”, and it is not a mirage.

I now present to you some snippets of the last 8 weeks. Photos from Zurich, NYC, Atlanta, St. Augustine, and Port St. Lucie. There’s a lot of face/chin/ear touching going on. Make of it what you will. Perhaps it’s a portent of a year of connectivity. Or a year of face touching.
